Awesomeness!

This Connections song just might be the best song in the world.
When I read it would be a 20 min long song I thought it must be very boring, but this keeps changing getting better as it goes on.
I just have to wonder if the last chapter is anything less than fireworks in your ears...
Oh yeah I didn't get the intro in the first chapter. Any point to that?

Gillenium responds:

Old songs like this make me uneasy. I mean, the ideas behind this chapter are great. And I know I did the best with what I knew at the time... but I could make this song so much better today. Unfortunately, all of these all songs and their files were lost in hard drive crashes. I've learned my lesson and I back up my stuff today. The intro and the outro were just something I've always wanted to do. Since I've only made one real album in my life, I haven't really had much chance to fool with intros and outros. The intro/outro is basically a recording of me coming back to my computer after class, being tired, and wanting to work on music. I tap on the computer and the tapping leads into the main synth bits. I like the intro/outro. Sorry you didn't get it :)

Takes you places...

First you're in the jungle, then at an airport and finally you're seduced by mermaids.
Very cool song.

Gillenium responds:

Maybe seduced by mermaids in the jungle airport? Filmmakers have grown attached to this chapter. With the minimalist feel to it, it lends itself well to being in the background of a surreal scene. I'm glad you liked it too! Thanks for the review.

Cool!

The Connection songs/song would suite perfect for reading homework, because it's relaxing and doesn't have lyrics to distract you.
Yeah, even though this is just a part of a very long song, I kinda liked this one more that ch.1, because ambient with a beat just sounds so awesome to me.
Now I'll listen to the rest of the chapters...

Gillenium responds:

Well, after taking time away from the Connection series and hearing it again for the first time in a while, I still have a foundness for the first chapter. I used to like the 4th one the best, but now I realize that the EQ on it is horrendous... Ch. 2 is the kind of thing I would like to remake someday. I like it, but I think it could be smoother and more interesting. Thanks for the review!

Woot very cool for an Anvil song!

I've tried Anvil, and nothing ever comes out as I want it to. Even if I try making a beat in HammerHead and import it as an audio sample, then the volume is turned down so that the sample becomes unusable. I submitted one song made in Anvil but it's not that great...
What I'm trying to say is that making a decent song in Anvil alone is impressive but this I think sounded pretty good. Well done.
It would sound good in a part of a video game that takes place in a train...

Gillenium responds:

Anvil was my very first music-making program. It started a long tradition of programs frustrating the bejesus out of me. My friend Paul told me about the program and basically launched my whole music career. Paul also left me my very first Newgrounds review on the song Nebula. I owe a lot to him.

But anyways... Anvil. It was a major pain. I haven't touched the program in about 7 years, but I do remember that things were pretty limited at the time. Every drum beat had to be placed manually in the song. A one-minute song would take an eternity to make so I kept my songs fairly short. Also, I noticed that when in the program, the midi sounds sounded different than when I rendered and played them on Windows Media Player... argh. I had to figure out a way to record the program playing the song and then save that. I forget how I did it to be honest. But that's why there's a pause at the beginning of my old Anvil songs. I had to click record and then press play in the program real quick :) Haha, I hope the program has improved a tad...

Thanks again!

Awesome!

Great melody, I love this song. Still this melody was heard in the first MP I think...
I really like the heartbeat in the beginning, that's cool

Sexy

You don't have circlo favorited just cause it includes your song, have you?
Still it's an relaxing and calming song.

Cool

Don't know much about music or the terminology of music but... The melody of the guitar/base or w/e reminded me of Crash Bandicoot, and the sounds in the background reminded me of the music in that jungle level in Sonic Adventure 2.
I liked how it sounded too.

Gillenium responds:

Wow! Reviewing the oldies! It feels like I haven't listened to these old tunes forever. I don't remember either of the songs from those games. To be honest, I really didn't have any musical influences at this point in making music. This was made about 2001 or 2002, and I was just listening to crappy radio stuff at that time. I wasn't really into electronic music yet, believe it or not! Thanks for the review.

Always loved this song

And I really like your version too. Also what is zxzxi talking about? This is the Target breaking theme from ssbm.

Ha, ha.

Homer's scream made me laugh. Don't know much about music but it's always fun to be surprised...
