Cool :3

I really loved the music in this game, that alone kept me pretty entertained.
I liked the idea of different formations, and they actually worked well. It would've been useful to see which button corresponds to what formation though. Trying to find the right one caused me some lives.
I don't get what this had to do with butchers, I didn't spot them anywhere in the actual game. O.o
Anyway this was a fun and short little game. :)

you were inside the butcher's brain destroying his brain lobes the whole time

Cool :)

It still needs some work though...
I was pleasantly surprised, cause I didn't expect much from a game mostly based on text. The story is a tad cliché, but it doesn't bother me. Especially since you have a good sense of humor and joke RPG games and about the game itself. :) So it's overall something fun to play. Good job! Oh also, this kinda reminded me of Kingdom of Loathing... Especially beating the bunny part. xD

I really liked the music in the game. It had some cute themes that went well with it.

I didn't get very far though I'm afraid... I found the game hard, as I spent all my monies (lol xD) in the weapon shop, and then had no way to recover. :( I got a game over while fighting a water elemental in the port town. (Raa-something-or-other) When you get a game over there's no resume button... That's kind of awkward. Also after the loader there was no play button so I had to choose play from the right click menu.

Keep it up! You definitely have a lot of potential to create some interesting games! :)

If you look at the credits, you'll see that Kingdom of Loathing was indeed an inspiration for the game. A lot of people say so without actually knowing, so I must be doing well on that front :P There is a back-to-menu button if you lose a battle, unless it happened to not work for the specific monster(s) you lost against. And there definitely is a play button. - Brian

Good game

The game looks good, missiles have glow, there is debris, explosions and the robots look cool.
When it comes to gameplay it is pretty straight forward and gets repetitive. The missions are basically the same thing, you go from room to room and eliminate the threats encountered. Gather key, go to the next room. Sometimes there are bosses, but they don't add much variety.
The difficulty is pretty linear, and ok as it is.
There are some different weapons, which is nice, tho there could be more. The other upgrades don't contribute to variety, you just need to get them to do well.

The achievements gave you upgrades, this I think is awesome. It's fun to get random upgrades. :P You could only get them at the end of the level tho, so it's no use until the next level. Also the achievements were based on statistics, so it doesn't change the repetitiveness much.

Also there were a few bugs, like sometimes the first store would stop working, and once I tried to buy a thing that increases your HP, and it took my UP, but I didn't get the item. Not sure what happened there.

The music was good, I didn't think it got repetitive, and it had a kind of a futuristic/industrial feel.

People are saying they want a story, but I skip the story 90% of the time in games like these. Personally I think a story might just have been annoying.

All in all it remains rather bland, and has a lot to improve on contentwise. Technically I think it is a good game, so you should keep it up!

Badim responds:

tnx,
about inventory item - maybe you just miss it if you had a lot of items in scrolling? )
but if money removed - then you have that item in your inventory 100%.
again, tnx for feedback!

Pretty good

I was actually surprised by how good I thought the game was!
The pictures are great, and it turned into more of a challenge when you could turn the pieces.
It kinda crashed when I tried timed mode, but that's because of my computer, not you so...

You've done very well with such a simple idea!

GameBalance responds:

hope it wasn't bug. We tested few days before release

Well

Well it looks good, and the idea of the elements is great. Also you get some accessories to spice it up.

Problem is though, that the levels are way too long. 45 waves? Are you serious? After 45 waves I'm supposed to play on the next level? No way!
After beating the first level, there's no reason to go on, even though you get some small extras with the skill points.

The first level was fun to play, but then you've seen it all, and it just gets dull.

playedonline responds:

Later levels get much more challenging and require you to use different strategies to defeat them.

Woot

I got 9th on the high score...
A pretty simple, yet addictive game!
It doesn't have music, but that's almost better. Now you can listen to your own music while playing!
A pretty fun game. I guess I'll get bored in a while, but still it's good.

twistedduck responds:

Nice score! Thanks for the comment.

Cool lil gadget

Well, the physics work well. It's fun for a few minutes, just throwing the poor helpless person around!

The levels weren't very inventive, but still more inventive than I expected!
I actually managed to fully kill the person though... He just flew out the screen...

You're getting better! Let us see some cool games in the fyutcha!

ZiggyZack99 responds:

Lol, nice.

Mmm

This version is bitter-sweet...
I can see that you've changed some stuff. You've removed some glitches, there seems to be some new ones. It doesn't really matter, the glitches aren't usually very bad. You'll suddenly pop into another place, but there's always some way to kill yourself.
I'm glad you've changed some details, the two versions seem to complete each other. It seems to even make a bit more sense now, but then again you can't really be sure of what everything means. I believe it doesn't matter, it's an interesting experience in any case.

The part where I got stuck on the last time hasn't changed much though...
There's still a red guy on an elevator so you can't get past him, you can only lead him towards the beginning of the course but there's no way to get the main character beyond the red freak... I'm sure there's a way as you've probably tried playing it through yourself too, but I just can't figure it out.

Aw man, a walkthrough would be perfect as I hate being stuck on this little thing as the game has much more to offer. Could you please PM me when the walkthrough is out?

In conclusion, the game is awesome. I like the feel, music, screens and game-play.
Keep it up!

HapPie responds:

Sure, thanks, you'll love the rest.
I'll also submit a walkthrough, probably to youTube (so you can skip all the boring parts, those that offer a challenge)

Hmm

Yeah, like many ppl stated there are many bugs. If you get trapped because of one you can right-click and choose commit suicide, to start from a checkpoint... This could've been mentioned in the description.
Ok, idea-wise the game is awesome. The over-all creepyness and mood is done well, and it has a pretty schizo feel. The screens telling you stuff are really cool, and the creepy comments too.
Game-play is relatively simple. The idea of playing as the red freak was cool, but to be honest I liked playing as the black dude more. The levels could have unexpected things happening, which was cool, and I like the puzzle aspect of the game too. But...
I tried as hard as I could, and I just couldn't get past the second part where you play as the red guy... You have a red guy in the gap at the start, one on the right and the elevator thing only stays up a couple of seconds... How the hell are you supposed to get the guy over???
There might be a load of levels after that for all I know, but it's annoying to get stuck right away...
Anyhow, the idea and feel are well done, and it's a pretty original game, kind of... There has been some similar stuff here though lately...
Well, good job, keep it up!

HapPie responds:

Thanks, I'll make an easier version and bug free version soon.

got 5800p...

Not bad, shows you have potential, although there is much you can improve.
There is no music, that alone would make it much better. At least a little techno loop or something from the AP.
Graphics weren't special but not bad either.
I liked the shooting controls: You couldn't just keep the mouse button pressed and have auto-fire, instead you had to click on every shot. This made me think more on each shot, which was pretty cool. This was also encouraged with the bonus points from shooting many zombies with one shot.
There could have been more weapons, but you're probably still learning about scripting, so there's no hurry on such things. It's not like I could make a game either.
The level is a bit too small I think, would be better to have smaller characters and a bigger level.
Also for the future, think of different power-ups and levels.
Good job, I hope you keep improving!

chinkeeyong responds:

Hey! I like this review - it's well thought out and in-depth!

If you guys really want music that much, I'll need to look into it for my next projects. I worked hard on the graphics to appease the most unreasonable members, and yes, the shooting controls were intentional that way. I was originally working on multiple weapons, but it caused me so much grief that in the end I abandoned it. In the future, I'll implement powerups, more levels, and more types of zombies, no worries!
