Well, the graphics and music are nice. The music is catchy and the graphics are old school and cute. The controls are also pretty tight.
The very first level where the key was hiding was too annoying for me to enjoy the game any longer. You can go through the level, then realize you missed an enemy, kill that enemy, go through the level again looking for the key. Sorry, but it's a very cheap way to increase the game-time.
You have a lot of good things in here. It's too generic though, and it's too repetitive.
With some new ideas and features this would be a really nice game. The quality was good after all. So keep it up!
The idea is decent, but it gets repetitive so fast...
Every level is basically the exact same thing, repeated. The different power ups don't really make any difference when it comes to game play. You just keep breaking gems until a white gem pops out, then you destroy that.
What's the deal with the compass arrows? They show in random directions, and if you clear the areas they show, nothing happens. The white gem appears in the same position anyway.
The visuals are nice, but somehow dreamlike, and that combined with the music is making me sleepy... Being relaxing isn't a bad thing though, if only the gameplay was more compelling.
It would have been nicer if there was some change between levels. Now it's only worth playing a level or two before getting bored.
I would not in any way have cleared this game if it wasn't for the review about 5-7 reviews under mine. Even with that it was difficult.
The tranquil music and surrounding was almost annoying me because it contrasted the frustration I was feeling while trying to solve the puzzles. :P
I went to look at the flower pot about 3-4 times and I clicked everywhere in the soil. On the fourth time, however, finally something appeared from the soil. Was the clickable area like one pixel in size? Or did my computer just freeze exactly when I clicked in the right spot?
Also what on earth was the point with the drawing on the wall? The solution didn't solve any other puzzle!
Also it was frustrating when there was so little to click or examine, and it seemed like there was nothing to do. But that's pretty common in this type of games.
I'd recommend this for anyone who likes masochistic minimalist escape puzzle games. Also if you liked this, then try the daymare town games also found on newgrounds.
I really like the game, but in the third chapter it began to lag so much that I couldn't play it anymore... And my computer should be fairly decent... :/
I liked the cute looks and the music was really catchy and nice.
I also loved the different weapons and upgrades.
It was also great that you had included keyboard controls, that helps me since I'm playing on a laptop with no mouse. :D
Too bad it lagged so much, I don't know why that is...
Animation, lighting and other effects look stunning. Loved it!
PS. Some of the effects looked like the dust effects from Street Fighter III, I wonder if you were inspired by those. :P
It works well for what it is intended.
I liked the long opening that reveals something pretty pointless. Also the derp face was funny.
The story in the description made it better too.
This could have used a lot more effort.
First of all, you need to get the Newgrounds preloader from the downloads section.
Second, the size is way too big, considering the length of the flash animation. You could consider using a music loop instead of a whole song, or then only submit the flash when it's actually done.
Since you used a madness spritesheet, you didn't have to put any work into creating characters or backgrounds... It really shouldn't be all too much work to make the animation longer...
You should keep working on this to make it longer, and upload it at full length instead. It's still good as a test though. :) Keep it up!
That's pretty cool, you've had to know how to use hit detection and physics in this one. As I have some experience in AS, I know that takes some effort to do.
The game itself isn't all that entertaining. I lost interest after the first level. :P
I appreciate the work that went into this though, and I hope you keep making games!
Good job, and keep it up! :)
The game looks good, I like the visuals. It's quite buggy though. And I don't know why you need to hold the space button to move the map, why can't you move it just by clicking and dragging? Or better yet, by using the arrow or WASD buttons.
Also there weren't too many towers to choose from, and you couldn't upgrade anything... The towers just gained levels automatically, so it didn't leave the player much to do...
The idea is pretty neat, and it had pleasing visuals, but this game needs a lot of work to be fun!

Nice
A nice little fighting short. The animation looked pretty decent.
Also I liked the music.
The ending was kinda funny, though it ended a bit suddenly.
Thank you for the constructive review
